Next meeting will be a dinner on April 9, 2024
President Billy's Dinner meeting on the 26th hosted speaker William F Hughes, Commander of the Dayton Soehike Ohlhors VFW Post 5350 in Westhampton. VFW members are military veterans of active combat locations. Our local VFW is the 2nd largest in NY State with 40 members. There are two fundraisers each year, a golf tournament and a turkey trot.
Thanks going out to our March Road Cleanup Crew -- Peggy Jayne, Patty DiBenedetto, George Motz and Patty Ziparo-Dalton. Check your calendar for the next month's date, join the crew for some outside community service! It's an hour or so on a Saturday.
Our next fundraiser is Saturday, April 6th, an Evening with Psychic Josephine Ghiringhelli. We are partnering with the WHB Performing Arts Center for this event but counting on all members to help spread the word, ask for sponsors, and direct ticket sales to the PAC.
Aimee looking for help at the event, and there's still time to buy tickets! Please find the sponsor letter lower on the newsletter as well as attached to the event calendar. Consider sponsoring or solicit sponsors -- share it with your contacts. If you haven't gotten your tickets, please do so. Available online or go to the PAC box office during open hours and avoid the online fees.

Our flagpole is in operation again!

A little history: this was a service project of ours in 2006 to honor Rotary International's Centennial. Our Charter president, Edward T Otis, Jr. and Rotarian Harold Raynor had originally maintained the site for over 40 years. We cleaned up the site, refurbished the pole and placed our Westhampton Rotary sign. That sign (which was unfortunately destroyed by a wayward vehicle) had hooks to hang signs to promote our various events.
We placed the below plaque to note that centennial, to honor both the men, and to thank our community for its support of our efforts.
With help from our friends at the WHBFD:
Food Pantry needs continue:
Bring non-perishable canned goods to our dinner meetings and Liz Lederer will deliver them to the Little Free Pantry on Mill Road (near the Beach United Methodist Church). Rice, beans, canned soups, peanut butter....any food that can be outside in the pantry cabinet. The ecumenical Food Pantry housed at Immaculate Conception Church is also in need of the same items as well as toiletries, canned tuna, condiments, jar sauce, jelly, cereal. Diapers are also needed in size 4. Drop items off at the parish office during the day. (Corner of Ocame Ave. and Main St.)
