Feb 18th dinner meeting
Guest speaker was Kimberly Monsour, Deputy Mayor of Westhampton Beach Village. She updated the club on a variety of subjects including village parking, the sewer system, beach passes for , property development.
Some news items from the meeting:
- Elvis and Sinatra are coming to the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. This will be our next fundraiser, set for May 3rd. Aimee Martin is developing the sponsor letters and event info. Contact her to volunteer
- Don Kehoe is researching a water project for our club to participate in for an area in Africa.
- George Motz working on this year's scholarships for graduating Westhampton Beach High School Seniors

We are incredibly sorry to share the news that Robbie Urban, 19 year old son of Past President Rob Urban, has passed away.
Services are private, however Rob and his wife Chi invite Westhampton Rotary for Wednesday's visiting hours. 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Werner Rothwell Funeral home in Westhampton Beach.

Our next meeting will be Tuesday, March 11th, a dinner meeting at The Ketch. (Board meeting will start at 5pm)
Scheduled speaker is Don Kehoe's guest Chris Clapp who will talk about the Long Island South Shore Estuary Reserve. Recently named Director, Chris is a Long Island native with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Stony Brook University. Chris began his career at The Nature Conservancy, where he focused on hard clam and
eelgrass restoration in the Great South Bay. His work on water quality later led to contributions to the Suffolk County’s Reclaim Our Water Initiative, a comprehensive program aimed at improving water quality by addressing nitrogen pollution from outdated and failing septic systems. Chris's efforts earned international recognition, prompting him to lead the Ocean Sewage Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to global water quality.

Our next date to serve dinner is March 17. You will hear from Liz Lederer regarding volunteering. Justin's Chop Shop is providing the dinner. Be sure to thank them when shopping there!
