July 23 meeting:
President Billy (who was sworn in at the July 9 meeting) kicked off his first (again?) meeting of the year following a productive board meeting

We have high expectations for this year and everyone will be asked to help! It's really great to give out money.... but we need to raise it to do that.
President Billy then kicked off a busy meeting! Read on to see what you missed:
Our first s
peaker was WHB student Brady Shultz, who recently participated in RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts where you develop your skills as a leader while having fun and making connections.

Brady shared about using one's
passion to serve. As a heavily involved theater member, he plans to pitch a community service project to host a "paint night" invite to help paint the sets for the high school's theater productions.
Next up was our new member Craig McGloin, M&T Bank Branch Manager in Westhampton Beach, who spoke about fraud and identity theft.

Some highlights:
- Online issues/hacking tends to happen through your device so keep it updated
- Use online banking to monitor activity
- Check fraud is the biggest issue, don't leave signed checks outside in mailbox
- Credit cards tend to be safer than debit cards
If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to call Craig at the Sunset Ave. M&T Bank branch, he'll help you whether you bank there or not.

We inducted new member Reena Mootoo, M&T Bank AVP Senior Relationship Banker

Peggy Jayne talked up the Golf Outing (this event funds the scholarships we provide to local students). Brochures will be ready shortly, and we'll need golfers and sponsors. Be ready to forward requests to your circle of friends!
And get this -- we WILL have fireworks again this year!! Thank you, Rob Urban!
We heard about the Town of Southampton's Affordable Housing help, with a property available right in Westhampton. Cece Cunningham gave us the scoop on that.

The Food Pantry Fundraiser Dinner date has been set for Saturday, October 26th. We partner with the Knights of Columbus and the Westhampton Kiwanis to produce this event to support the local Food Pantry. This Food Pantry provides not only food but toiletries, diapers, and the like to those in need in our community. Club collaboration like this is unique, and productive.
Yours truly will keep you advised of committee meetings and worker schedules.

Saturday August
17th, join the crew for some outside community service! It's an hour or so on a Saturday morning. Get your steps in and your service!

Liz Lederer will deliver your donations brought to dinner meetings to the Little Free Pantry on Mill Road (near the Beach United Methodist Church). Dry goods, canned items.... items that can be outside in the pantry cabinet. The ecumenical Food Pantry housed at Immaculate Conception Church needs the same, as well as toiletries, condiments, jelly, cereal, diapers. You can drop items off at the parish office during the daytime office hours 10am-4pm. (Corner of Ocame Ave. and Main St.)
